A Firelake animal cremator in western Virginia sensed a problem and decided not to allow its preheat burner to operate. This is a safety feature built into all Firelake burners. The fault prevented the clinic from providing a pet cremation that was very important to customer satisfaction. Fortunately, Firelake cremation systems can be diagnosed and serviced very easily. Suspecting a problem with the flame sense the igniter assembly was pulled from the burner. This happened in only minutes because of just two screws and a flare nut needed to be removed. The igniter was examined and found to be worn significantly from normal use. This is the original igniter which provided almost 7 years of service. A new igniter was laid in place, the two screws and flare nut was resecured. The cremator was started and the burner fired immediately, preheat was achieved, and the cremation a success. Firelake has decades of experience used to design-out potential trouble. The internal chamber of the cremator can be seen in the photo. A private cremation is contained by the use of a tray. Firelake offers many trays of various sizes to assist in daily cremation needs.
