Dignity Cremations LLC is a small animal pet cremation service in Illinois.  They provide animal cremation services to veterinarian clinics within a 100-mile radius of Mattoon, IL, and to private individuals needing cremation services. They offer both private cremation where the pet is cremated individually and the cremains are returned to the owner in an urn. Dignity Cremations also offers general cremation where several pets are cremated together and no cremains are returned. The Start of Dignity Cremations

Dignity Cremations started in 1996 by Peg Blue and is now owned by Mike & Jackie Landreth.  Jackie remembers her first encounter with the pet cremation business, “I started working for Peg, cleaning her house as a second job and helping with the cremation business. I eventually left my main job as an Office Manager at a veterinarian’s office and started working for her full time. When she was ready to retire I bought the cremation business from her in 2015.”

Dignity Cremations currently averages around 25-30 private cremations per week and 2 loads of general cremations.

Upgrading Incinerator Saves 50% in Fuel

According to Jackie, Dignity Cremations currently averages around 25-30 private cremations per week and 2 loads of general cremations. “Prior to purchasing a small animal pet incinerator from Firelake Manufacturing, we had an EasyBurn diesel incinerator and an Incinerator from FC Industries that utilized propane and was over 25 years old.” In October 2019, Jackie decided it was time to upgrade the incinerator and decrease her utility costs. “We purchased Firelake’s P16-SC4 incinerator that operates on natural gas and it has cut our fuel bill in half. It is clean burn that is undetectable from our area neighbors.”

As Owner of Dignity Cremations, Jackie is very happy with her upgrade to the Firelake animal incinerator and highly recommends them to others.
